Anti siphon device

I have a 1986 24' seawind cc with a 50 gal fuel tank.Does anyone know if antisiphon devices were required back then @ bottom of pickup tube?

I dont know, but it should not be hard to take the tube out and look . All I have seen were at the top inside the hose nipple. The best valve I have seen is OMC oem brass nipple with stainless steel insert, ball, spring, good for at least 225 engine.

Clanton,if it had one someone removed it.All it has now @ top of tank is a 90 hose fitting.The pickup tube is welded in tank.I ran motor,a 2.6 omc seadrive on portable tank with no improvement on engine surge.I found one coil with high ohms.Will replace coil and try again.I,ll let you know how it goes.
