On my 89 with 5.7, Power Steering, Alpha I, Gen I, when I turn all of the way to port, the wheel starts shaking. Belts are fine, fluid is fine, steering has been lubricated with Merc White grease. Have not a clue. Anyone....Anyone?

Check the cable and nut adjustment. Make sure cable and nut are snug and tight (bottom pic)

If you look, you will see a lock on the bolt. It seemed to have turn enough that the lock was the other way, meaning the screw in the slot was at the top and now at the bottom. I tried it out of the water, it turned fine, but should have done it first out of the water to see if it did it then or just under load. Also that unit seems to move up and down, if you grab "a", it moves up and down, not sure if it should.

The steering cable (a) can move but it should not move inside the nut.(c). Don't see an issue if the cable clamp moved in the slot but it shouldn't keep moving. See if the cable will slide in/out of the cable nut, if it doesn't loosen the cable nut and try to push the cable further in. If it does slide in this may fix. If it doesn't it looks to me that the steering ram may need some work.
