Older couple maybe 60's, backing in to load their jon boat. Left the vehicle in neutral and this was the result.
Would it have been wrong to hand them my detailing business card?

Must have rolled deep into the water and the bottom side was more bouyant so it rolled over in the water.

That's gotta be one of the worst mishaps I've seen. I'm sure they'll have fun explaining to everyone how they managed to do that :D

Isn't that the Suburu Outback, where in the commercial the guy likes replaces his old one with a new one like that. And they have an amazing rollover rating?
:/

That does suck. A boat that likely costs 5% of the car providing the opportunity for that mistake....
I am impressed that the car was able to flip with the trailer attached.....

Everybody was upset. Not so much at the owners but at the DNR. Those idiots blocked access to both ramps with their truck and trailer waiting for another idiot who couldn't load his boat. There are two double wide ramps one for boats and one for boats and skis. Once the tow truck did his thing and got out of the way the guy in front of me backed his trailer in on this side of the trailer that was already in the water. Well DNR just sat and blocked access while this idiot spent 15 minutes trying to load his boat. DNR needed the whole double wide ramp to retrieve the jon boat.
Once the DNR backed in I went to the far ramp and was backed in and out in a minute.

That is truly the stupedist I have seen. It is so silly it could be photoshopped.

I got there right after it happened and spoke to the conservation police and they said with how high the water was and the jet skiers not following the 150' rule of no wake probably contributed to it rolling over.

When I read vehicle left in neutral the first thing that came to mind was vehicle rolled back with two wheels riding up the dock ramps and two wheels on the concrete.

wow !! beautiful lake , where is it?

woosterken

Its the Kankakee river in Wilmington, IL. Three rivers all meet in this area.

That didn't happen though. Once the trailer was in the water one of them got out and had left it in neutral.

I always double check its in park and the emergency brake is on before I get out.

Yep... Subaru B-pillars had a design flaw early on. They were TOO strong. (8 layers of steel + steel rod) The jaws of life couldn't cut through them. The fix was to add a specific area near the top that is a little weaker, enough to cut through.

Re: Another ramp mishap

I thought maybe they carried a small boat on top of the care incase it flips over.

You would think the tow company would have tried getting it back on its wheels before brining it out of the water.
