Whenever my boat is in the water and i give it throttle with the drive, it dies.. But when i give it throttle without the prop (drive) it will go full blast.. so after the embarrasment at the river, i got home, put the water hose to it, and gave her the throttle with the prop spinning, it went full blast! I asked a buddy he said it may be the impellor.. anyone know what this is? cuz the engine throttles great, but when its in the water in drive it just wants to die, just hoping to get a clue b4 i take this thing to the shop. thanks fellas

Also one more thing, it seems to be an excessive amount of oil in the water when givn it throttle, is this a rich mixture? maybe cut back on the ratio? thanks again

Time to rebuild the carbs. If it runs fine on the hose, but stalls in the water (under a load) the fuel pumps are toast. Don't ask me how I know. Do it yourself and save a TON of $$$$.

Actually another buddy of mine said the same thing, bc that is exactly what it does, it cannot handle a load.. I take it those fuel pumps arent to expensive, but i cannot find any online..
