So, as im thinking of getting out there and giving skiing a shot with my boat and thought, what i am gonna attach the line to?? the boat is a sportfishing boat with a large open cockpit. When i go tubing i hook a line between my stern cleats (Blocked) and run that line through the tow rope. will this work for skiing?(In this case i would use the airhead ski harness below) Ive tubed like this for 15 yrs and never had an issue... is there some type of removable pylon that I could mount on my deck and remove when it would be in the way? Or what do you guys think about a thru-transom ski eye set up?

The ski tow eye would be ideal if you have access to the center of the transom. However, the rope harness will work just the same. I wouldn't bother with any sort of pylon approach since the use of a ski pylon was to "center" the pulling force from a slolam skier so it would have less affect on the boat. I don't care how hard your son pulls or carves, you won't know he's back there with a boat that big with twin drives.

Are there already a pair of transom eyes on your hull? If so, attaching to either of those would work fine. Otherwise I'd recommend adding the through transom eye.

Either would probably be stronger than the top mount cleats.
