I have a 16'5" Galaxie tri-hull that has a 120 Mercrusier...has really surprized me.......it gets skier up with no problem .....will hit 40 mph on smooth water.....uses less than half the fuel used with my 80 hp merc skiing.....Now for my question I have a 19" prop.....it will redline it with 3 people in boat.......althogh its redline seems awefully low at just 4300......thinking of getting a 21" S/S and vent..... for same holeshot as current prop.....anyone had any experience here?

Re: another prop question

You won't need to go up in pitch if you go to a stainless prop. The SS prop will have alot more cup to it which will make it almost the equivalent to a 21 pitch aluminum. Trailer Boat magnazine did an article on vented props on I/O apps and outboards and found a very minimal increase in hole shot for the I/O's. The outboards, however had drastic improvements. So don't waste your money on a high priced vented SS because it won't many much if any difference with your 120 Merc.
