Another Mounting Height Question

I have searched for an answer to this question and I cannot seem to get anything definite.

I have a 1979 Skeeter Wrangler I have redone. I picked up a Mercury 150 at a great price knowing it needed some work. I have it fixed and running great, but after mounting it I think I made a mistake. This engine has a 25" shaft whihc looks t be too long.

I was trying to determine what the height should be. Everything I read says the cavitation plate should be about a 1/2 to 1 inch above the bottom of the transom. On this boat the bottom of the transom is not actually the bottom of the boat. The bottom is actually about 4 inches below the transom. I have attached a picture that hopefully shows how my boat is.

Should the cavitation plate on this boat be measured above the transom or above the actual bottom of the boat.

Cavitation plate should be close to flush with the bottom unless U have a bracket.J

Looking at that information I should be alright. The plate is currently just about level with the bottom. This is using a jack plate. I do have room to raise it another inch or 2.
