454 Bravo III 1994 vintage
Everything worked fine when we took the boat out for the first time.
Second time, the shifter was very hard to shift into forward or reverse.
Third time, now it will not shift into forward to reverse at all.
It appears to be a problem with the lower shift cable or beyond.
Question:
Could it be the ball and spring corrosion that some have talked about? If so, where is the access point?
My mechanic actually replaced the lower shift cable...What would cause the cable to detirerate this fast?
Could he have installed it wrong? Is there a link that shows the correct routing of the lower cable that I can verify?
