i just read the alignment question thread and ive got my own question about it. my front engine mount is adjusted all the way down to. and it has a block of wood under it to get it up high enough in the front so that the engine mount is still together. i never questioned it but now i am. when i checked the alignment it was good though. i watched the videos on the utube about it. one was the wrong way and one was the right way video. but it does seem to make that front mount kind of loose and the engine seems to vibrate a lot till its warmed up.

If you can take a picture of it I can tell you if its right. I am not 100% sure on what you mean.

Should look like this

The four bolts in the foot (7) should bolt to a peice of wood that is fiber glassed in. kind of looks like a step in the bilge and depending on how thick that "step" it will change weather the main support bolt is high or low.

Re: another alignment question

i will take a picture of it tomorrow. but what i mean is directly under part 7 in diagram there is a block of wood about 5/8 in. thick. then under that block of wood is the stringer it bolts to on my hull. and the nuts 10 and 11 are at the very end of #13. my hull is aluminum so nothing glassed in. but it looks like without the block of wood between #7 and the wood filled aluminum stringer that #7 bolts to, # 13 would be hanging in midair. if that doesnt help i will put a picture on here tomorrow.

Re: another alignment question

basically i can see all the threads on part #13. if thats wrong i would have to put a thicker block of wood between #7 and my stringer it bolts to.

I get what you mean. It would mean that you have no room to adjust the engine up any more. It should be fine as is, but if it were me I would add to that wood platform in the off season and check all the mounts and replace any worn mounting rubber and leather washers.

Then re-align engine. The reason I would do it is because normall ware on the mounts will make the engine height fall and you would need to adjust the nuts to lift the engine, if those bolts are already at the end you wont be able to.

If that makes sence

Re: another alignment question

that makes perfect sense. and as i was putting this motor in my boat i thought about doing that. but then when i got it in, and it was lined up, i took it to the lake, had the oil in the coolant problem, swapped to the 2 barrel intake, took it to the lake , never really thought about it again till i saw that alignment question post and someone said it was wrong to be adjusted all the way to the end like that. so it got me thinking. i will fix it. but probly not till the lakes freeze up!
