Anode question

I have a 1987 5.7L 260 Merc with the Alpha one sterndrive. I was wondering about the bottom two anodes that seemed to be mounted to the plate that attaches to the boat between the engine and the drive. One appears to be loose. I do not know how it comes off. Is there a bolt in there? If this is loose would the boat take on a little water? Thanks, BK

The anodes just unscrew. The bottom bolts have threaded studs sticking out for the anodes to mount to.
If the bolt itself (and not just the anode) is loose, then yes it can leak into the boat. It could also be loose because the transom is rotted or even the bolt corroded in half. It's aluminum.
