Hello! Hmm, where in the world is the zinc (anode) on this bugger? Would anyone know if the older Johnson, a 1973, 20hp (model 20R73-A) had a place to mount an anode? This engine has been sitting around, hardly used, and after replacing all of the aged rubber parts & hoses, will soon be used in saltwater. I'd love to be sure that it is protected, but am baffled by the apparent lack of an anode anywhere on the lower unit. Is the anode the prop's cone-shaped-watchmacallit- nut?
If anyone has any experience with these oldies-but-goodies, let me know. Thanks!

They used to have an anode that you could bolt to the upper side of the anti-ventilation plate. Check with a BRP dealer. Part # 173029.
