Depends on what you want to put into it, it needs to be cleaned up and painted with new decals if you want to have a show motor.

Bill Patterson from the Maple Leaf chapter may be able to supply a new decal for you.

Be careful cleaning it so you don't wash off the old Johnson decals on front, which might be hard to replace. I'd love to hear it run! You gotta love old tractors and old outboard motors!

Can you post a photo of the cover? I have the same motor (no decals on it) and it is also missing the cowling.

It was very easy to work on and get running, however I did find it had a hard time pushing any load.

Here's mine:

I was just informed by my 90 year old uncle to come up and pick up his 15 hp fastwin evinrude with two tanks that has been properly stored for 15 plus years,as I recall it was in nice shape and the last time I heard it run it just purred.

Good idea. Those old Fastwins are excellent motors and are extremely reliable. You'll love it. I had several of them in the past and they're one of my top 3 favorite motors.

That's an interesting tank on your antique Johnson there. That model is also a cousin to the old Evinrude Ranger. I had one of those in the past too. Nice thing about your Johnson though, it is 360 degree turnable and the Evinrude version is not.
