Hello-
We tow a 23ft fishing boat with an anchor on the bow. Looking for recommendations on what to use to cover/pad the anchor. When we pull the boat alongside our other boat, we sweat bullets each time the bow of the fishing boat gets close to the other boat.
Thank you for your suggestions!

Not sure I understand the Q. In the open water, tow the boat 25' behind. Tight water lash her along sides, with some bumpers. if avail.

A 23 footer should not have an anchor that cannot be stowed in the bilge.

I agree with Charlie, why not get a tow rope and leave the anchor out of it?

Some smaller boats do have an anchor on the bow.

I try to get low so the bow stays as high as possible. I tie a bowline to the bow eye. Having the low line above the gunnel just pushes the bow down. If no bow eye and unable to get the anchor out of the way, wrap a towel or something else around the tow line for chafe protection
