Re: an outboard Nineteen....

well, now here's something ya don't see everyday.. http://asheville.ebayclassifieds.com/boats/clyde/1979-aristocraft-classic-20/?ad=12883342 guess converting your AristoCraft i/o to a o/b don't devalue it what so ever.. maybe...

What a waste...
Wonder what they're using the former engine compartment for?

BTW whats up with the Orangey schmutz around the OB bracket. Hope it's not..... but certainly is the right color to be "great stuff" foam...

i hope they used it for adding structure of (to) the transom. i don't think there's much wood in the transom of a Nineteen.
What a waste...
that'd be my opinion too. but to each his own i guess.

Re: an outboard Nineteen....

Quoted from the ad " I am listing this for a friend who is a perfectionist of the highest order with four gold oak leaf cluster."

I guess my idea of perfection and one with a four gold oak leaf cluster is a lot different. He's right about one thing - It is a cluster!

I notice he has no pics of the former engine compartment. And a bracket adds force and stress to a transom which has NO wood but most importantly NO design to support an O/B bracket. A perfectionist would show off his handiwork, especially for $7.7K. And the doghouse is still there, what is the gain or improvement?

I never even thought about doing this to my former Aristocraft. A 9teen is a nice old classic, this one used to be!

What a way to treat a lovely lady all the Nineteens are. Almost makes a boat lover cry.

Good lord, even as a strongly pro-outboard guy.....that thing is a travesty.
