Who did they think they were? James Freaking Bond???

We had a similar accident on our lake several years ago. This local rocket scientist just had to get in one last boat ride that year. We had already prepped the boat for storage and he had dropped the insurance for the winter when he got the bright idea of barhopping on the lake one last time before winter on an unusually nice early December day. It was a newer boat, only two years old or so. He and a buddy were at full tilt when they hit the train grade that parallels the shoreline of the lake and flew over it and landed square on the rocks in the shallows on the other side. God only knows why they survived fairly unscathed, but needless to say the boat didn't fare so well. It and the gearcase were a total loss. Probably at least an $8,000 rig. He tried claiming insurance, but you can imagine how far he got with that.

How do you explain to your insurance that a boat came out of a lake and hit the top of your car? Possible alcohol related. well duh
