Anyone else following the series. I followed the original for a few seasons until the mindless destruction and constant bickering between Sr. and Jr. got old. Seemed Jr.just didn't get it. showing up late sloppy work place habits. Consistently doing things to tic off Sr.
I gave new series a shot and found myself thinking what a jerk Sr. really is.

I think both under estimated what the other did. Jr thought running a shop was easy and Sr thought building was easy. I noticed Sr seems to have mellowed a good bit.

I dislike Jr to the core, he comes off a spoiled baby

I got bored with the the drama some time ago but I did drop by the shop last year for a look around. Lots of cool bikes on display.

Been to the second shop they had a couple of times.First time most of the guys were outside the shop and wouldn't give us the time of day.Second time we stopped Sr. went out of his way to stop and talk to us.Seemed to be pretty decent.I think the whole show thing is scripted and gets old fast.I did go to there store to check out a lot of the bikes that were done for the series. Also donated some money to them(got a couple of t-shirts).I'd far sooner watch Jesse James build everything from scratch than watch Jr. pull a part off the shelf and modify it.Jesse has far more talent IMHO.

In my opinion the Tuetles are tv made millionares due to popularity of the series and can not and wiould not be able to hold a candle to the likes of James who are craftsman especially proven when he built his own Diablo with the copper rivited seams gas tank instead of the production model bikes built @ OCC

We stopped watching it years ago, the new show is a train wreck like the old show got to be....

Is it just me, or does Sr. look like he's aged 20 years?

I agree with you guys man, Jessie builds a custom, Jr just slaps together parts.

Sr to me has dropped some LBS and I don't just mean his dead weight kids.

Its a classic form vs function..Its to bad they cant reconize how good they are as a team..Ive watched some early shows today..Jr always had the design talent and Sr was always pointing the way...To bad neither one can look at the other and reconize its not about the individual but how it all works as a team..from Vinny to Mikey the whole crew

Jr & Sr are both tools... JJ is the last real bike builder left.

It got really hard to watch after a while. After Vincent left I was pretty much done with the show.

Re: American Chopper Jr. vs Sr.

it is just an ego trip for all of them. camera's, sound men, etc.

who ever heard of them before the show???

they are rich, and getting richer, so are the producers.

TRASH TV.

just like the WIVES of somewhere. the Cardasians. just junk to fill the channels.

AMEN! IMHO JJ is way out their league. It's all staged and men soap operas. Without TV and JR's first web bike you wouldn't even know who OCC was. I'm still waiting for the "trick my boat" show to come out though.

Jr. is a bit of a tool but I think he stopped caring when it became clear his old man was never going to relinquish the reigns. The show definitely jumped the shark when Vinny left. It made it clear they weren't even taking care of their top guys. Quite a shame. I did enjoy it for a number of seasons.

Re: American Chopper Jr. vs Sr.

On the first new show you learn Jr. is a 20% shareholder in OCC. Sr. is suing Jr. to get the 20% back. Sr. hires an appraiser to value the company. Appraisal comes back at a zero dollar value. Some how that does not seem right. Makes Sr. look even more irrational.

As for Jessie James, he's got real talent. But like the Tuttles his destructive side kills the show for me.

Still fun to watch, in the new series SR really shows the a-side of himself imo.

Plus it seems Sr's bikes are not very custom anymore, little mock up here and there, maybe a custom tank and thats about it, no real fab work to speak of..

Jr on the other hand, well he's jr. :) If he can keep it together I think he will do fine.

Wether or not they are tv made or not, they still build some killer bikes.

It is sad to see money come between and separate a family. Family is one of the few things money can't buy.

I met a guy who was also a custom bike designer that runs a shop a few hours away. He said they were really cool guys, until they started that show. After that he said the OCC guys wouldn't have anything to do with them.

I bet if they never started that show, they would still be a family.

Re: American Chopper Jr. vs Sr.

Sometimes I wonder if these reality shows become victims of their own success. How much of the drama in the shows becomes "encouraged" by the producers, etc.........?
I've seen several shows that were interesting to watch in the beginning, because of the tension among the players, only to clearly have the drama amped up to keep the interest in the audience.
Not saying that is happening with this show, but it often makes me wonder.
Gotta successful show, then they gotta keep up the ratings somehow.

Classic examples are Judge Judy- she's become an absolute witch. Every little thing gets her going on a tirade. So has Gordon Ramsay. Before he just spouted off a bit, now he throws temper tantrums and has dishes and food flying over relatively nothing.

Unfortunately thats what people tune to to see "lets see if he/she freaks out this week" therefore, do what is asked, make more $$$.

Re: American Chopper Jr. vs Sr.

I like the new show, I liked the old show but the fighting is kind of tiring but it is partly why I tune in I guess.
Also there are environments like that all over some people aren't even family and have to work in crap like that all day without a camera around.
People have emotions and sometimes people get mad when other people screw up or money starts flying.

I hope Jr gets some work soon with all that fancy equipment he's got there and as far as Sr goes IMO he seems very vengeful and a bit like a snake in the grass.
I'm sure Sr great to some people but it seems like if you "cross" him, he gone getcha.
