Did anyone else watch the final episode last night? I havn't kept up all season, but I did watch 2-3 shows of this family one.

I'm so glad the siblings won it, I was going to boycott the show if that widow with her 3 kids won. She would go on and on about being a good christian, yet her kids threw garbage out of their car window on the highway, they called the other team names, cussed and complained up a storm, all the while praying for help with each new challenge. I understand that her husband died in a racing accident, but was it just me being insensitive when I rolled my eyes while her kids just complained "it's not fair" and cried while she drove on a go-kart track?

The jet boat ride looked very cool.

Anyone else have thoughts?

Re: amazing race family

I watched the Amazing Race tons of times and really enjoyed it...but I lost interest fast when the family one started. I'll wait for another "real" one, thank you.

My wife and I complained about that family the whole season.. There was a reason that the other families did not like them. They thought they were being ridiculed for being Christian. I think their sentiment was somewhat hollow. I think God has something better to do than to ensure they get the right taxi driver so they can win a big Mill.

That jet boat ride was very sweet. I loved the powerslide the driver did..

It think this episode didn't travel so far because of the smaller kids and the fact that there were four in the team as opposed to two. I think the arrangements were probably be a lot more complex with four..

I couldn't stand the family either- true Christians ask for God's help in life to make good decisions, etc. Not to help by making other people's cars break down. I thought they were whiny and annoying.

On the other hand, the Linz's are from my town and they seemed like they held up pretty good. Apart from some really dumb moves, like running past the clue boxes, not reading the clues all the way etc, they managed to prevail.

I wonder if the people who apply for these shows ever watch the show? Jeez- people do such stupid stuff like they've never watched the show before. I'm amazed at how dumb some people are. And how hard is it to read a map?

I do like the 2 person team better than the family version- four twenty+ year olds have a much better chance than a family with a 12 and 10 year old.

My one biggest gripe about the show is that no one can truly "run away" with the race. They have the stages carefully set-up so that people bunch up no matter what. Sometimes it drives me nuts that a team will kick butt and get way ahead and a team that blows will catch up because they all have to wait until a certain attraction opens up or something. I'd love to see a race in true form where a team can get days ahead of another by using skill, smarts and teamwork.

I'll like the next edition much better.
