... and by that time, you're too board to be paying close attention. You don't see the rats nest for another three hours.

It also shows how important design is. A ballerina on point has all the weight carried by her toes. Same with this and it looks like the legs are filled and as the upper thigh was printed, gravity took over. Too bad the vid doesn't have a count up timer to show how long it took before disaster struck.

"And as the upper thigh was printing, gravity took over." Well isn't that true it real life as well, gravity takes over and everything droops and falls apart? lol

I've had a high end 3D printer sitting in my shop for at least two years or more now. My younger adult son bought one and thought he wanted to 3D print things. So he brought the kit over and we assembled it and aligned it and installed everything. He hasn't even printed even one sample project ever. Not even one to test it out. And every time I ask him about it, he says he needs to get over here and get it running. But I think he loss interest now and it will never get used. And it is a pretty large printer too. About 2 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet in size.

GM if you've never looked into 'em ... and have a nice one ... do a little research. It is VERY impressive what they are capable of. I toured the National Transportation Research Lab in Knoxville and their 3D printing lab ... I was blown away by what can be done. Literally printing metal gear meshes that work right off the printer pad.

Not sure I have any software to feed it. I don't have any type CAD or 3D design programs. So I guess It would take some good 3D software to make the proper file format for it. I have no idea what he was going to feed it from...

Actually - you can do a lot through some freebie software out there. The printer should have software you can download for it to actually print. Some of the 3D software that is available open source is VERY good. I'm using one of them for design work.

If you want names, let me know.
