I have a 2002 Starcraft 1810 with a 3.0 Volvo Penta SX. Current prop is a 14.5X19. At 4400 RPM i am runnin at 38.4 MPH on gps with more throttle available? Is this about right?

Next question is: while runnig at about 3000 rpm the boat handles great, turns very easy While running at 4000 RPM the boat gets really hard to turn. (No power stearing or assist) My prop is sort of beat up. I am thinking that when running at 4000 RPM i am getting a lot of prop slip...am i on the rigth track here?

Ayuh,.... The required number is rpms at Wot....

What does it do, at Wot....

Remaining throttle movement is irrelevant...

Im sure no one here will know, what you consider, your prop being beat up, and picture may help.
Does it turn hard, in both directions? Is everything greased right? May be a trim tab ajustment needed, if only one direction.
Why do you think your getting alot of slip, I dont know your gearing in your stern drive, but your speed and RPM sound about right.
I'm sure Steelspike will add some.

Initial calculations indicate only 4% slip. pretty impressive. I'm no expert but you may have Gimble trouble or some other component involved with steering. I could be way off base. You'll get more help for the steering issue in the Volvo I/O section.

At WOT right arund 5000 RPM the speed on GPS was 42.6ish. The stearing likes to pull left, but at lower speeds docking it is toug to turn either way. When sitting on the trailer it turns effortlessly.
