The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
I have a '71, 125 Evinrude, my service manual says 5000rpm is wot. When underway I can get 4750rpm, but I usually cruise between 3500rpm to 4000rpm. Will I damage my motor by running it in that rpm range?
Thanks, John
I don't think so, John.

What happens at part throttle (cruise) is that you use less fuel to make less power.

I suppose one could quibble that an inch less pitch in your prop would allow 5,000rpm+ at WOT, but if you seldom use WOT it is merely academic.

I would say you are okay.

Good luck.
