Well finally had a chance to run my boat today and get some good solid numbers. I believe I am probably at the top end of what to expect from this setup but figured I would throw the numbers up anyway and see what the prop experts think.
Boat: 1984 Glastron SV-178 (17' fiberglass) reverse chine I believe
Engine: 1993 Johnson 120 V4 Looper.....very clean 120-122lbs compression all cylinders
Prop: 13X19 Stainless Steel (OMC prop I believe)
Test run #1-into a 8-10mph head wind 44 mph at 5350 RPM fully trimmed out
Test run #2-with 8-10mph tail wind 45.5-46 mph 5550 RPM trimmed out
With the 2:1 gear ratio my prop slip comes out to about 9% which I am very happy and surprised at
Boat weight 1200 lbs, motor 371 lbs, 2 adults combined weight 350lbs, 1 child at 45lbs, gear 150lbs roughly, 50lb batter and 10gallons of fuel approx 75lbs= Total 2,250lbs roughly
