Well, Some of you will remember that I was named as one of eleven heirs to an estate recently, well, we had a family meeting last weekend, and quite frankly it went rather smoothly, except for one person. This person we will call Person "A". She was the first one from the other side of the famly from mine that got into the house before anyone else and self appointed herself as an executor of the estate. Being the first one in, (Under the gise of looking for a will) even though everyone who knew my cousin knew there wasnt one and told her so. She has given away some of the things of value in the house, (Illegal), Also several things are just missing, like jewlery, a stamp collection, washer and dryer, refrigerator, freezer and a couple coin collections. She claims they didnt exhist. Other than the washer, dryer and freezer. Our lawyer has told her that if they are not found, that she will be brought up on charges, and there will be an estamate made of the value and it will be taken out of her share. Hopefully she will come forward about it. She has been removed as an executor, and one of the cousins on my side has been voted in and will be bonded. And the beat goes on.

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate family disagreement. These things never seem to go smoothly. Hopefully things will be made right with the appointment of the new executor and the involvement of legal counsel. Tearing apart a family for a couple of appliances, and collectables just seems so petty. I guess if this is as bad as it gets you will be ahead of the game.

Off with her head Lube Dude. Hold the attorney to his threat. No excuse for that kind of behavior.

I have seen that kind of thing first hand. It sickens me. Greed is an ugly thing.

Re: Always has to be one!

There have been a couple of my family members that have passed away and I just stayed as far away from the proceedings as I could. I knew how certain factions within my family would react abd it just wouldnt be worth the heartache for me to get involved. I do not regret my decisions either.

It is a shame, but nothing brings out the worst in people as much as an inheritence divided among family. Always seems to be one "gold digger" in the family.

Same thing happened to my BIL. His uncles body wasn't even cold yet and his other two uncles was cleaning out the house. One of those uncles just passed away about a week ago and hardly anybody from that side of the family went to the funeral.<br /><br />Hope things work out for ya Lubedude! :)

Exactly! I have already informed my children not to expect an inheritance as I will live a nice active fun retirement and die broke.

Guess my calclator is broke but if one person takes a washing machine. then the statment, "there is always one" hold's true.<br /><br />But if one person takes a washing machine and the other eleven fight to make dadgummed sure they get there 8% share of it...sound's like twelve gold diggers...Just one is better at it then the other eleven.<br /><br />Hypocritacal...Ah contrare! Ive been through it.<br /><br /><br />Yeah I know there is more than the washer, Coin's, stamps, etc.<br /><br />Walk away...Be a better man,...It's only "stuff"(I know right now it seem's like more, but trust me, over time it is just stuff). If he knew what the whole lot of ya was doing right now he would have burned it all.<br /><br /><br />Now that I got your dander up, Be pissed at me for a while and think over what I said..... <br /><br />Let those who want to fight over it do so.<br />The bulk of the estate will land where it should, Is the Little bit were talking about here really worth it... ;) <br /><br />P.S., I aint trying to make ya mad, just the way it is. I have been through this with a mother and a wife....Knowledge I would have rather gained without expierence.<br /><br />Friends??? <br />

Actually, its not the money, like you said, its not worth it, and everyone else feels the same as I do. Its just that there is a right way and a wrong way, its just the fact that she did it at all so people want her held accountable. Thats all. Mostly because shes such a B***h we want to make her life misserable. We all know that even if its $5,000.00 worth, devide that 11 ways and its nothing. Shes just a POS, and thats it. Actually all the rest of us are doing very well with it and we are all getting along flawlwesly except for her. Its actually quite amazing.

Re: Always has to be one!

My grandmother inlaw wispered to me on her death bed - "Whatever you do, don't let {insert name of person 'A'} into my house after I'm gone."<br /><br />And I didn't, I slept there and stood guard for 3 days. Person 'A' showed up on day 2 with a van.<br /><br />Two weeks later, in the reading of the will, person 'A' got zilch!<br /><br />I think we all have a person 'A' just waiting to pounce.
