aluminum rod

Hello,<br />I have a 85hp kiekhaefer engine Theres a aluminum rod that goes into the lower unit through a rubber boot. I can't find what this part is, so that i can replace it. It leaks really bad.<br /><br />Any help is much apreciated.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Cam
