Aluminum Intake manifold

Hi folks, I have a 1990 formula with a 454 volvo penta. I bought it used and it appears to have an after market edlebrock performer 2-0 aluminum intake manifold.<br />it also has an after market holly 4 barrel carb.<br />I used the boat in fresh water and was wondering if i will have corrosion problems. Also why do you think the previuos owner had this done. what benifit will it provide <br />thanks,<br />mike

A person would do this to increase performance. It would add a little more bottom end and add to the top end by about 750 rpms or so.

Jazzy<br />I do not think will have any corrosion problem as do not belive any water flows thru the intake manifold. They probably changed manifold and carb looking for more power.

Jazzy,Unless there is a clearance issue a 2.0 performer is a small manifold for a big block with a 4bbl.Does the manifold not read 3.0?

it says 2.0. is the 2.0 the height? how does this compare to the original cast manifold that came with it?? Better or worse?<br /><br />thanks

2.0 is designed for use with oval port heads if that's whats on your 454.
