Alumi-Weld or Durafix

Has anybody tried this to fix their hull or anything else. Alot of good reviews.
alumiweld u can get at harbor freight. Instead of welding u can braze?

I used alumaweld to patch a jon boat once. It was not pretty, but it did hold.
I tried propane first but could not get it hot enough. Had to use mapp gas. Hull was at melting point before I could get any flow. Is not as easy to use as in infomercials. Worked decent on bullet holes. When I patched a rip in the bottom, it would crack when it cooled due to thickness of the patch. I would not use it on my Starcraft. It is worth the expense to pay somebody to Tig weld it for you.

Well I won't be needed to use it. My BIL is gona do all my aluminum welding at his shop. The best part is it will be freeeeeeeeeee.:D

I used it this week end to no real yields. I just couldn't get it to stick strong enough. I think its easier and faster with jb weld. The pics are for braces for my hull, i just decided to rivet them together. Maybe i need more practice.

Just curious did you tin<(spelling) the pieces first like they do in the video with the little brush.

when you weld aluminum it has to be cleaned with stainless steel brush really good

Yeah I used the stainless steel brush for like a minute, set the brush in a clean place and then even tried thinner clean the pieces and then brush. hmmmm

Tig welding aluminum is hard, if you contaminate the electrode results are in the pictured above.
