anybody seen this set up before--steering in back--metal back rests--i moved the windshield to the back from the front--any thoughts would be great

Neat setup. I think the windshield was generally mounted on the front deck. Looks kind of racey on the steering deck, though. The metal seat brackets were an option in the mid-1950s--I've never seen them before other than in the catalog, so thanks for sharing. Essentially a long FD, it seems. A little bit wider than the FD, though. This boat came out before the 14 foot FD. In 1954, I believe the first year (?) it was rated for a 25 hp motor. This was later increased to 35 hp by '57 or so. My bet is that yours is a pre-1957 Model K based upon the seat backs. Serial number would help the nice folks at AlumaCraft corporate to determine the age of the boat. Its got a lot of years left....

I'd also add that it looks like it has some nice accessories...seatbacks, steering wheel, speedo, decks, and what looks to be a decent vintage trailer. All look to have some vintage appeal. Were you to ever sell, make sure you get the value for the package inherent in the hard to find parts!

thanks for the insight VINTAGE ALUMINUM----found her on craigslist for 300 bucks--she had been turned over on ground since 1981---fixed the leaks and taking her to my camp in canada where she will get a new life--my son wants it for his own rig so i get to use a a vintage NADEN which is also a real pleasure---the trailer aint bad --hope she can go 800 miles--
