alternator/water pump locations

I am in the process if installing a cooling system from a Mercruiser 230 MIE inboard, probably early 80's vintage. Can anyone tell me what side of the engine the raw water pump and alternator go on? I can't get to my boat to play around with things and the original engine is not available. I have not had any luck finding drawings of pictures of a complete engine, thought someone might know.
