Hi,
2003 VP - 5.7 Gi-B
Recently my sea pump failed but before doing so squirted the front of the engine with seawater so consequently a few items have copped a bit of surface rust as a result.
The 'cooling fan' or fins on the front of the altenator have rust on them - if I brush it I'm worred about the filings going inside. Can I remove this fan or do I have to remove the whole alternator?
The pulley for the power steering and the back of the power steering pump but have rust on them. The back of the pump I could clean pretty easily without removing but I think the pulley itself needs removing to clean properly - can this be removed without having to remove the entire unit and having to bleed upon reattachment? (also, I'm worried about having to connect hydraulic lines again).
