All,
I have a marine alternator that I have disassembled and am replacing a potentially bad rectifier. I found one, but also purchased an auto alternator to see what the difference is and if I could use parts from it. From what I see, there is not a difference on the internal parts, just the flame arrestors and silicon sealant on the outside.
This is not a complex alternator, what am I missing? I plan to use the rectifier and windings in the old housing using the flame arrestors.
