Hey all. Uncovered the boat today and saw the gear oil monitor bottle was empty. Gear oil looks like it slowly leaked out of the weep hole on the lower unit port side. Replaced the shift shaft seal, carrier seal and water pump last fall after finding a small amount of water during the gear oil change. Shift shaft seal was bubbling during the pressure test.
So what did I mess up when putting everything back together before lay up?
Thanks
If it was an upper seal problem, I'd see from the third pic, correct?

you wouldn't see it in the third pic as I think you are just looking at the front side of the bellhousing.

If the lower seal in the upper was leaking you'd see it in the exhaust cavity and on the water pump.

at this point you need to pull the drive and pressure test. When you did the shift shaft seal did you get just the seal or did you get the whole plastic housing with the seal in it? I did just the seal and could never get it to not leak in the plastic housing...

if the whole bottle leaked out willing to bet you will find a bunch of gear oil when you split the two halves. Im not sure if the drain hole you see it coming out of drains the exhaust cavity or the intake side of the water pump. if the water pump intake your shaft seal below the water pump is leaking, if the exhaust likely your driveshaft seal in underside of upper. this is easy to damage when putting the halves together.
