I'm going to change my Alpha One water pump impeller for the first time. I read somewhere that using a Black & Decker workmate can be a viable option to use instead of buying a stand to support the outdrive while you're working on it. Does that sound reasonable? Have any of you ever tried it?

Thanks

Re: Alpha One stand

I never have, because I have the real one,but I don't see why it would not work.Just watch out if it's top heavy.

Ayuh,......... I see No Reason it Won't Work.........

Somewhere around here is a picture of the Stands that Don builds out of 2X6s,+ a Sq.Ft. of Plywood.........

It's a Groundlevel, or Tabletop kinda stand.......
Basically, the 2X6s are formed into a "V",+ the plywood end panels hold it together.......
The Skeg fits down thru the "V"...........

Re: Alpha One stand

Mine is sitting in a workmate right now. The tabletop version, not the one that has a stand under it.
