Alpha One shifting problems

For some reason that I can't easily figure out, my outdrive is not shifting properly when the tilt/trim is lowered. With the trim up, it shifts properly into Reverse, Neutral, and Forward; however, when the tilt/trim is down, I will not go into forward. It seems to work if the steering is turned all of the way left, but not when centered.

I was thinking a bind on the shift cable, but am looking for ideas.

In most cases it needs a new lower shift cable.
Can try adjusting the cable first

First thing is always try adjusting to strict specification.
Also check cable routing.

Chris's video is a great tool to adjustment process.

Thanks for the info, gentlemen. I did a re-adjustment and found that the lower cable was a bit out of adjustment. I got it back together and it seems to be shifting OK now. Hope I can put her back in the the water soon and try for real.
