Hello All! Just did My Impeller a couple weeks ago. Took it out to the River and Everything was good when I was under power at low and high speeds. But when I just idled in neutral, it overheated. I believe that when I mated the Lower Unit to the Upper Unit perhaps the Hose did not couple properly??? My question is: Can I lower the Lower Unit just enough to re-align the Hose to the Sea Water Pump without draining the Gear Oil? Will I be able to see in there to do this? Going out again tomorrow so I hope to get this fixed Today! Thanks in Advance! By the Way, it is a 2006 Mercruiser 4.3 with the Alpha One Outdrive.

Nope, if you were good under power and overheated at idle it may not be an impeller. take the hose off at the therm housing to check the flow .
There is no hose to couple, just a copper tube that goes into the pump body.
