I have a mercuiser 3.0 liter and an Alpha one outdrive on my 1991 Glastron. We were at the lake today, boat running good, pulling tubers and all of a sudden the engine revved up as we turned. When we turned we did hit at large wave and the tuber did notice the outdrive did pop up out of the water at the same time. We shifted back to neutral and tried to start back up and as soon as we pushed foward the engine would rev high again. We were able to head back to shore at a slow speed. The outdrive is shifting into forward and reverse, just not sure why it rev's up. Any help would be appreciated, not sure where I need to start. Thanks!

How would you check the prop hub? I've heard from a couple people that it may be the prop, just not sure how to check it out. I do not have a spare prop to throw on there to check. Thanks!

Use nailpolish. Paint a line across the back of the prop & hub. Go for a ride. Try to get it to slip. See if the paint line has moved as it crosses over the two parts.
