Pretty harsh, Dave. I'm with you on the oil change, but we don't really know about that, do we? Maybe the OP has had this done. Larry might be one of those people who falsely assumes oil stays good if you don't run the engine, or he might have had it changed. Jumping all over him isn't the right answer here.
As to tune-ups, what is there to service on a 2000 model? Does it even have points? What would you do for a tune-up? Maybe plugs, but with low hours on it they should be fine. Modern electronic ignition engines just don't need that much tuning.
Seems to me all he's asking is whether fuel starvation problems can kick in that quickly between uses. And the answer is, yes they can.
Larry, sounds like you're doing the right thing replacing the original filter and adding a water separator. Be sure to place the separator between the tank and the pump, not upstream of the pump.
