I purchaced an impeller with gaskets and o-rings for my 2001 gen 2. So I remove the impeller, gakets, and old o-rings and place them on my work table, I replace impeller, gaskets and o-rings, problem is I see a "yellow o-ring" about 7/16" in size on my table and i still have a new one in the bag, but i have no idea where it goes... can you help?
here is a link for a diagram, i know i have item 16, 17, and 59 installed

My kit came with a new gasket for the oil fill screw at the bottom of the drive (#17 in the pic you linked to). Is this it? My kit did not come with a new gasket for the breather tube at the top of the drive, so I bought a pack of 'em. Seemed like a good thing to replace as long as I was servicing the drive.

Welcome to IBOATS.

2 should do it but always a good idea to have some extra on-hand so buy a 3rd.

The only 'yellow' item that was in my Merc. water pump kit was the oil fill/vent seal. The extra one is not the same size as the others?

Do you have a link to the kit you purchased?
