I was wondering if anybody had a link for a detailed cooling system schematic for an Alpha One? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you!

An Alpha I is an outdrive, not an engine. It does not have a cooling system, and there are no schematics.
What kind of problem are you having?

What I meant was from the OUTDRIVE thru the transom, and all thru the motor and out the exhaust. I got this boat a few months ago and it seems some of the stuff was jerry rigged together and I am trying to make it right and I want to make sure there is nothing missing in the cooling system and as I have no basis for comparison I need some kind of diagram to look at.

Pick up a service manual for the engine and a manual for the drive. Some Mercruiser manuals can be downloaded from Boatered.com, if I remember correctly. You can buy some used manuals on eBay. You could even try your local library. There are a number of different hose/manifold arrangements, depending on the particular engine model and year. Check your engine number. You should also be able to find some information if you do a search on this forum and/or a google search on the net. Good luck. Hy

Re: Alpha One Cooling System

I took a look at the diagrams you posted in the other thread and that is certainly a good start. What has got me scratching my head is from the water inlet tube on the transom it appears there is a 3/4" nipple. They have a hose attaching to it that is approx 1" to 1 1/2". From there it goes to the power steering cooler. It seems like it is the correct size hose attaching to the power steering cooler. So my puzzling question would be "is there some type of reducer to be used in between the water inlet tube and the power steering cooler?" Or is there some type of bushing that goes on the tube? The hose does not seem like it wants to stay on that nipple even with 2 clamps tightened down on it.
