Alpha 1 outdrive won't shift after re-install Chicago area

Can anyone please help. I positioned throttle in full forward position, removed outdrive, checked alienment, greased U joints, and then split lower half to replace impeller. put everything back together and re installed, now the throttle won't come back into neutral. Any help or advice Please?

Most likely the fork shift slide fell side ways & is stuck on the shift coupler arm...That's where I would check.....JK

Tilt the drive all the way up and look at the shift shaft and see if the 2 pieces (1 in bellhousing and 1 in drive) are together correctly.<br />Another possibility is the shift shaft roller missed the slide on the end of the cable.

You are going to have to take the drive off and start over.Did you make sure the drive was in fwd while installing and did you make sure the lower was in fwd before you put the 2 drive halves back together??

If all were in fwd then just pull out the drive until you can see the cable and make sure it is in the correct position.Don is probably right .No I am not in Chicago area.Long Island NY.
