Alpha 1 gen 2 lower lower shift shaft alignment

A mechanic tried to install lower unit back into boat but it wasn't locking with outdrive, so he removed and turned the lower shift shaft some teeth around. Now, my shift cable doesn't engage fully into forward gear after coming back from reverse.

I did the cables adjustment to specifications and didn't work same issue.

How do you align this shift shaft?

That not possible with the gen ii you can reverse it but thats all. reversed it wont work either

Hi Bt Doctur, that's the upper shift shaft, please see picture attached he removed screws pulled out and turn around then put it back together
