Alpha 1 Gen 2 - Lack of Power

Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 2. Rebuild this thing multiple times and finally figured out my problem and took it for a trial run.

I noticed that there seemed to be a lack of "power" and it felt like it was running a bit rough.

I know this is a very subjective complaint, but not sure how else I can explain it. There were times when I felt like all of the sudden it "caught" and I got some momentum going on plane. Then there were times when I was nose up and couldn't get out of my own way.

Any suggestions on where I might start?

I was going to break down and bring it into my local shop but the hub falling off my trailer saved me from making that trip. Now I'm waiting for that so I can get the boat back and tackle the power issue.

what kind of lack of power is this drive showing? Are you propped correctly?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... So ya got an Alpha Gen.II drive,..... But what Motor,..??

What have ya checked on the Motor, whatever it is,..??

Sorry I didn't include the engine specs because it seemed to be running fine. It's a Mercruiser MCM 3.0.

The prop question has me wondering. I thought I did my research and got something that was the right fit. Now I guess I'll have to double check that.
