So Im down to the Gimbal Housing on my evaluation of the assembly. Can I drive the bearing out and in with a socket? No need for fancy pullers right since it is completely apart and on the bench. Sorry is the question sounds stupid.
Well Doc. I beat and beat on the back side of it pressing the seal against the bearing. I got to the point were I was afraid I would crack the casing. I had it on a concrete floor so all the energy would go to the bearing. So now what Doc?
Have you got the bearing insert out to the aluminum tolerance ring?
If not, remove the bearing and drill some holes (carefully) around the outside of the tolerance ring.
Hopefully that will help get it out.
