Almost had a warrant for my arrest!!

Whew,just had a close call. Indiana Dept of Revenue sent me a letter and said I didn't pay them my taxes due for 2011.

YES I DID!!!

Only had to spend 15 minutes on the phone with an agent to straighten it out. I had a very pleasant chat with "Lisa", who asked me the pertinent questions, which I answered. She found out, "Oh, yes we did receive your payment via electronic check.Thank you Sir for providing that confirmation number." That's one less warrant now that I won't have to dodge.

LOL...... I got a letter from MO for my 1991, 92, and 93 taxes!! Fairly threatening however, I had to prove I was only stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and I was not a resident. MO wanted to play hardball and played that game with any soldier who worked part time (outside the military) and tax the entire income. The Army JAG (Judge Advocate General) got involved and it was dropped.

I am not surprised that the MO accounting practices have not changed. :facepalm: Why should any of the States tax departments.

Hmmmmm come to think of it Tyme.....that is what finally caught Al Capone!! Come on Tyme you are among friends....... you can tell us!

Our DOR is under scrutiny right now for seizing money from bank accounts, w/o warning, for these types of "crimes". ( taxes paid but the DOR seem to have dropped the ball on recording the payments ). I wonder if they would be so agressive to give back money when someone overpaid?

Ballif said all rise so we all stood up, judge comes in with his seein eye dog officer Obey looks down at his 27 8x10 with the parragraph on the back and began to cry. Cause there wasn't any way the judge was going to look at those photos. Was a typical case of American blind justice.
