This might be pretty basic, but whats the best way to remove the spring pin (#301-64217-0) on the prop shaft?

Does this have to be removed, in the LU seal kit I have part # 369-60111-0 oil seal, which Id like to replace. Just tapping it out with a screw driver the easiest way or is there a trick to it?

Thanks!

EDIT: Found out where some O-rings go.

EDIT 2: got the spring pin removed, but I still don't have access to the oil seal. Any idea how to get access to it?

Have to remove prop, then 2 bolts that holds prop housing to lower tail. You can change all related parts that comes in the kit.

Not required to disassemble the clutch. No need to pull that pin. After prop shaft housing is out (and prop is off), just push the prop shaft out of the housing.

Ok, but which way do I remove it? The gear seems to be stopping it, and the flat part at the other end doesnt seem to let it out either.

Some more disassembly required?

Got it out, wow they seemed to be almost completely seized up together.

The thrust bushing is still stuck on the shaft. Get over a nice wood bench, put the prop nut on to protect the threads of the shaft, and whap the nut end straight down on the bench while holding the aluminum casting. Acts like an impact hammer. That should dislodge the thrust bushing and drive the prop shaft out. If you are timid about turning the unit into a slide hammer, you can use a press to push the end of the prop shaft (the end that takes the prop) into the housing.
