ROTFL beat out by a woman bidder too. Maybe it was your wife under an alias and is buying them for your Father's Day or Birthday. ;)

Gonfishn, if that wasn't your wife bidding on them, then I know for sure SHE could tell you what you could do with 200 muskie lures. ;) :p

I mean really, everyone knows it only takes one lure to entice a muskie, it just has to be the right lure.

Re: Almost but not enough

FYI...That was 200 lures in a storage system aka Tackle Box that when fully opened measured just short of 11 feet long. Might I add with no room left in it. Now tell me, What fisherman couldn't find a use for something like that. IMO even at the price they went for they were reasonably priced at less than $4/lure on lures that run $10-$15 retail. Biggest problem is ya cannot sneak an eleven foot tacklebox onto the boat unoticed...It is much easier to do 2 lures at a time. :D

For the record: anyone who would consider dropping $800 a pop on tackle MAY Have some Issues to deal with. ;)

On the upside though it would be a good investment...Caskets arn't cheap and that thing is big enoufgh to be buried in

Yep,, But you know what! Those lures will be worth a lot more money in a couple years. I would be willing to bet the winner is never even gonna throw one of them lures. :D

Well jeff if I had known you were going to bail out I would have started the biding then. :)
Flathead your are probably right those lures will probably never see the inside of a boat.
No matter jeff we still have enough to catch a big one. :p :p
Lady-fish you sure know how to hurt a guy.
He looses the bid and you stick him with a knife and twist it.

Bubba I was not going to say anything here but she had a blonde moment..remember when she said a women(right) won my Bid..well Delores was a mans last name not a womens first name as she thought..

If she had to pick a musky lure you know she would pick the purtiest one for a ear ornament not because it works..Bad part is that she would probably catch one.. :D

they just don't understand GF....
as for this auction, buyer could easily make a
nice profit resellin them for $10ea. of course
once you got yur mitts on them, you wouldn't
have the heart to sell 'em prob :p

MY...That was kinda my thinkin, not so much make a profit but sell enoufgh out of there to get some free lures and a heck of a tackle organizer. But 800 is a big outlay to fanagle some lures...wife would have begrudgingly went along with my ploy. She is a good woman though as she wouldve allowed me to, ultimatly it was my call. :)

See now if you thought like a woman, you two, or even four of you, could have split the whole lot of them and shared the cost.

Nobody, I mean nobody needs 200 fishing lures of any kind. By splitting them it would have brought the total number of lures and price down to a manageable amount. :) Or at least one that you could fit into your boat and hide from wife.

Hmmm. Yeah, LF.

I have fished with guys who spend more time selecting and changing musky lures than casting.

The boat lists toward the side their tackle chest (big bux "storage system") is on. Looks like recycled firewood to me.

I use about 5 lures and have several backups for each. I usually catch more and bigger muskys than they do.

However, it is the new secret lure that feeds fantasy and expectation and makes sure they have a thin wallet to sit on. :D

Re: Almost but not enough

Seriously, my hearfelt condolences to Gonfishn for not having the winning bid. I heard Mr. Delores is a jewlery maker and some dumb blonde had the brainstorm they would make pretty earrings. Everybody knows earrings sell for much more than muskie lures. :p

Re: Almost but not enough

I must confess here that had I won the bid I would have kept maybe 20% of the lures and sold the rest. I had Neaumans,MellowYellow, and BubbaKat in the back ground wanting many of these lures. At an average of 12 to 15 bucks a lure a calculator will show you that at 850$ the cost is a little over 4.25 a lure..At 5$ a hit is not a bad deal for those who know about Musky lures...

JB..You have had Guides take you out when you are up at the Lake of the Woods..I would bet that that he had ten to fifteen lures in his boat that he would use at any given time depending on weather and water Clarity...If you only fish once or twice a year for the warrior then four or five lures are ok..I spend about to 10 to 15 hours a week pursuing the warrior.

I bet many here have tackle boxes upon tackle boxes filled with lures that you use when you fish for your favorite fin.

In my case there is no such thing as a 2$ lure..Its expensive and if you catch five or six muskys a year you are in the upper % unless you live in Minnesota or Canada. In the Musky world unless you spent at least 500 bucks you are just playing around..For a good musky rig you are looking at 200 to 300 a rig(I have four).. the lures at an average of ten bucks and up(I have about fifty)..

I don't drink and I don't play golf..Wonder how much you golfers spent a year on greens and clubs.
My children are gone and I love to fish..I spend what I want cause I can. If it ever comes the time that my wallet is empty and cannot be filled again then I will fish from the bank (not)..

BubbaKat has seen (some) of my arsenal that I use. I guess when I pass from this earth you may see my arsenal on ebay..And I am sure Bubba,Neaumans,Mellowyellow.Muskyone,Eurolarva, may go together and snatchem up. More then likely though my son will be the benefactor of my treasures...

Neaumans,Eurolarva,Muskyone...How many lures do you want me to bring up to Minnesota? Do you think four or five will be enough?..Right :D
