Could the "boom" maybe have been the levees breaking or something else breaking for that matter. I'm sure there were more than a couple loud noises during that storm.

In 1927, the levees were bombed to save parts of the city, and black neighborhoods were inundated.

It's a fact. Governor Simpson ordered a downriver levee cut that mostly saved the city of New Orleans. Residents in affected areas were relocated & property owners were compensated.<br /><br />this poor lady is just confused...

Unforuneately it's not just one. Most aren't so stupid as to say the government blew up the levy, but soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many people are complaining about problems of their own making it makes me sick. And it's all because they're black.

I saw some of that "BS" on tv today. Typical New Orleans problems. Some sit back and complain that the goverment (that's us) did nothing (everything) for them while others try to prepare the best that they can and then get to work doing whatever needs to be done after the storm. <br />Take a look at the track of Katrina. New Orleans was on the west side of the storm. That is the weakest side of a hurricane. <br />Please remember, those complaints were from New Orleans, not Mississippi.

I still feel sympathy for those who dont try to blame everyone else, or come up with these insane conspiracy theories. Its a lot like people in car accidents who develop a mysterious neck injury when they realize they can gain something from being wronged. I feel bad that they were in the "accident", but don't feel wquite so bad once they start taking advantage of something. SOME see an opportunity to start the black vs white thing up again and gain from it.....to me thats sick

There is a surprisingly sizeable population who won't take radiation or chemotherapy treatments for cancer, because of patients they've known or heard about who were just fine before the doctor told 'em it was cancer, and how sick they were after the treatment, and then they just died. They have a lot in common with the levee-bombing-conspiracy people.

A friend of mine who lives in Metairie (suburb of NO) finally just got a FEMA trailer in front of his house. He's been trying for weeks. They are going to start re-construction on his house and he hopes to be back in about 3 months. He had about 2 feet of standing water in his house for a decent period of time. He doesn't *****... He doesn't complain that the levies were blown up... He didn't have to get airlifted out of NO post-Katrina. Why? Because he's NOT A FRIGGING IDIOT!!!
