Obviously, (hopefully) you can see I'm playing with the banter. I grew up a child of the Air National Guard, but the base I was around most had all 5 branches on it. I think the UAVs are pretty neat, and there's a good chance some really spectacular air superiority will be achieved using them. The absence of a pilot on board will really allow these things to put some intense forces on the airframe - resulting in some incredible flight envelopes.
At the same time, there's something about a pilot's situational awareness and combat tactics that make him as much the weapon as the aircraft … wait for it … even for Navy pilots.
It will be interesting to see how UAVs develop.
