Hello

I have a question about the all around light on a Bayliner 175 (2005) Me and my Father in law just bought a 2005 Bayliner from a previous owner and it had no all around light when we got it. We went and purchased a new LED light for it but it will not work. Every other light on the boat works fine and all other electrical seems to be working just not the all around. I checked the fuses they all look good cleaned the contacts and checked the wiring for any loose connections and found nothing that look out of place. Any ideas on what might be the problem ? any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. :joyous:

Thanks for your time.......

Re: All around light question

With an incandescent light, you can flip the + and - all day long and it doesn't care. Its just a mini heater. LED's on the other hand, hook them up backwards and you get nothing. An open circuit more or less.

(in other words, the wiring below the light socket is backwards...)

Or he may just need to flip the LED 180-degrees in the fitting.

Is there 12V at the fitting?

Re: All around light question

you need to verify that you have 12VDC at the light socket, no other way around it.

So you need a volt meter or a test light.
