OK Guys
Got the alignment bar whacked it in with rubber mallet has grease marks across top of bar nothing on bottom. If I understand correctly I am to lower front of engine correct?
The reason I am asking this is if my motor mount would start to sag wouldn't that mean I have to go up at the front?
Also turning motor mounts top head of bolt clockwise up brings it up and counter brings it down right?
By the way this is a 888 outdrive 233 motor.
Thanks in advance

Re: Alignment

First thing is you don`t WHACK IT IN , you push it in by hand.
The actual adjusting is done with the bottom nut, the top is a locknut that hols everything in place.Rear motor mounts do go bad allowing the rear of the motor to drop down, no amount of adjusting the front mounts will correct this comdition.

Re: Alignment

ok
by looking at the motor mount mine has a threaded bushing that moves up and down by rotating bolt. The bottom nut is pinned in place to not loosen up.
I adjusted engine up where the alignment bar goes in by hand with maybe 10 pounds of pressure comes out with no pressure just slides like butter. I have spline marks completely around the bar at each of 90 degree rotation so I think I got it. Thanks again
