alignment tool

hi all I've got an alignment tool made and my 1st step is at 1.019 and not 1.010 . I can't get the tool l to fit into coupler just wondering if this is too big like any play at all?I guess its got to be right @ 1.010. since no way to measure the coupler spline or shaft spline without a proper tool.I'm going to start with getting the 9 th taken down.thanks

Removing that .009 will be necessary if you want an accurate alignment. You might get away with + 1 or 2 thou over, but not 9
