I purchased an alignment tool for my Mercruiser and have been trying to align the bearing and coupler. The alignment tool does not seem to bottom out on the coupler. Should it? If not how far should I expect it to go in? I have it to a point now where the tool goes in pretty smoothly with it just bearly catching on the coupler as it goes in and it sinks about half way up that section of the tool.
